General | Japanese Bobtail is a medium-boned short-tailed cat originating in Japan and having a special Japanese cast provided by its face, eyes and ears. | Points |

Shape Top of head | The head is not longer than it is broad. Viewed from the front it has the shape of an equilateral triangle (the triangle does not include the ears) with fine lines and gentle contours. Top of head is flat. | 10 |
Muzzle and chin | The cheek bones are high; the small, slightly rounded muzzle has a distinct whisker break. | 5 |
Profile | The profile is slightly curved at or slightly below eye level. The nose is long, of even width and well-defined by two parallel lines from tip to brow. Chin and lower jaws are firm. | 5 |
Eyes | The eyes are large, oval and set with rather pronounced slant. | 5 |
Ears | Large, upright, set wide, but at right angles to the head, rather than flaring. | 5 |

Size and boning | The body is medium sized, slender and elegant, yet muscular and not dainty. | 10 |
