Burmilla Longhair - BML

General  

The Burmilla Longhair is the name used for semi-longhair cats of Burmese type that come in the silver and golden shell and shaded coat colours. 

Points 

Head:

Shape  

Top of head 

Forms a short balanced wedge with width at the cheekbones, tapering to a blunt muzzle and showing good width at the jaw-hinge. Top of the head broad and with height, wide between the ears and slightly rounded.

Muzzle and chin 

The prominent cheek bones are set wide apart. Broad and quite short muzzle with soft rounded contours.
Tip of nose and chin should be in line.  

Profile  

Broad nose of even width. The profile is clearly curved. 

Eyes 

The eyes are large and set wide apart. The upper line of the eyes is set at a slight oriental slant, while the lower line is rounded. Colour any shade of green, but clear green is preferred. A yellow tinge acceptable in kittens and young adult cats under two years of age. In reds, creams, and torbies amber is allowed.

Ears 

The ears are rather large in proportion to head, set wide apart and slightly tilted forward. They are broad at the base with slightly rounded tips. The outer lines of the ears continue the upper contours of the wedge.

Size and boning 

Slender and of medium length and size, it should feel hard, lithe and muscular and heavier than its appearance indicates. 

Torso 

The back should be straight from shoulder to rump. The chest should be generous and gently rounded but not disproportionately broad. 

Neck 

Neck of medium thickness, should be in proportion to the body. 

Legs and paws 

The legs should be slender, elegant and in proportion to the body, of medium length with the hind legs slightly longer than the front legs, paws neat and oval in shape. 

Tail 

Medium to long with a medium thickness at base, tapering slightly to a rounded tip.

Texture  

Fine with a silky texture, without woolly undercoat. It is slightly shorter on the shoulders. Tufts on the ear tips, a bib and breeches are desired. The tail is fully furnished like a plume.

Ground colour: pure silver-white, or warm golden, shaded and shell

Round eyes.
Prominent nose bump.
Narrow at cheek bones.
Flat foirehead.
Light eye colour.
Tabby marking in tipping.
Solid colored hairs.
Uneven tipping 

 

Without certificates 

Cobby or oriental body.
Too short or shaggy coat. 

 

Disqualify 

Incorrect color in adult.
White spots anywhere.   

 

Remarks 

Reds, Creams may show "freckles" on the nose, paw pads, lips, eye rims and ears.
