General

Russian Blues, originating as Archangel cats, have a unique double coat, emerald green eyes and an elegant appearance.

Points

Head:

25

Shape

Top of head

The head is of medium length, with a flat skull. The top of the head  appears flat between the ears.

10

Muzzle and chin

The muzzle is broad with prominent, very pronounced whisker pads.  The chin is firm.

Profile

The forehead appears straight to the level of the upper edge of the eye. This creates the distinctive angle level with the upper edge of the eye. The profile from here to the tip of the nose has such a shallow concave curve that it appears virtually straight. There must be no stop, break or nose bump. The tip of chin lines up with the tip of the nose on the same vertical plane.

10

Eyes

Vivid green, set rather wide apart, almond in shape with a slight upward slant.

10

Ears

Large and pointed, wide at the base and set vertically to the head. The outer line of the ears continues the line of the upper part of the face. The inner side is sparsely furnished, causing the ears to appear thin and almost transparent.

10

Body:

20

Size and boning

Medium to large sized but long and graceful in outline and carriage. Medium strong bone, well muscled.

Torso

Slightly elongated. The cat should appear neither rangy and leggy, nor cobby and short.

Neck

Long, gracefully slender, but may appear shorter because of dense fur.

Legs and paws

The legs are long and slender, the paws are narrow and oval.

Tail

The tail is long and ends in a slightly rounded tip.
