German Longhair - DLH

General  

The German Longhair is a large strong cat with long silky coat originating in Germany in the first half of the 20th century. 

Points 

Head:

Shape 

Top of head 

In the shape of a trapezium, slightly longer than broad. Top of the head is slightly rounded or almost flat. 

Muzzle and chin 

High set cheekbones. Broad and blunt muzzle. The broad chin is moderately strong. 

Profile  

Gently sloping, curves slightly down to a Roman nose of medium length and even width.  

Eyes 

Large, oval, slightly slanted and set well apart. Eye colour of any shade shall be even.

Medium size, broad at base with rounded tips, set wide apart and slightly tilted forward.

Size and boning 

Large and muscular, medium heavy boning.

Torso 

Long rectangular format. Round torso, well-developed chest, even width.

Legs and paws 

Legs are muscular, medium long, paws are large and round, with tufts between the toes. 

Tail 

Medium long, broad at base, gradually tapering to a rounded tip. Furnishing is plume-bushy.

Shiny, silky, easy to groom texture with undercoat. Cats with a back-parting to be preferred.
