General  

The Oriental Shorthair is a long, elegant, slender cat producing a stylized extreme impression. 

Points 

Head:

Shape  

Top of head 

Wedge-shaped and long. The wedge starts at the nose and broadens on both sides in unbroken lines to the ear base. Top of head is slightly convex or almost flat viewed from the front.

Muzzle and chin 

The cheek bones are high set and narrow, the cheeks flat. The muzzle is fine, without expressed whisker pads. 
The strong chin forms a vertical line with the flat nose leather.

Profile  

The profile is a long straight line or a slightly convex line from the top of the head to the tip of the nose

Eyes 

The eyes are almond-shaped, set wide apart and not deep. The distance between the eyes is not less than one eye width. The eyes are set at a slant, with the outer corners set clearly higher than the inner corners. 
The eye set and aperture harmoniously match the wedge shape of the head and produce the typical oriental look of the breed.
The colour is an intense green.

Ears 

Very large, set wide apart and wide open. 
The inner edges are firm, not hanging. They run both up and sidewise, without lying horizontally, continuing the lines of the wedge
The tips are in fact slightly rounded but appear to be pointed. They point far to the sides. The outer ear edges are firm without visible bends. They run down slantwise as low as not to distort the ear shape.

Size and boning 

Medium to large sized but elegant, slender and muscular.

Torso 

Tubular, elongated: the contours of the back and the belly are straight, almost parallel. 
The rib cage and the shoulders are not wider than the hips.

Long and slender, slightly curved (swan neck).

Legs and paws 

The legs are long and slender, straight set. 
The paws are dainty and oval.

Tail 

The tail is very long, whippy, thin at the base and ends in a pointed tip.

Special breed faults 

Unharmonious broken lines of the profile and of the head.
Ears in the shape of a butterfly wing. 
Small eyes.
Rounded eyes.
Triangular eyes.
Straight set eyes.
Short strong neck.
Sidewise flat and deep rib cage, breast line clearly lower than belly line.
Visible skin flap in the groin region.
Too strong boning.
Short legs.
Cow hocks.
Short tail.
More yellow than green pigmentation in the eye colour. 

Without certificates 

Weak hanging ears (with the exception of kittens).
Concave lumbar part and other clear signs of weak ligaments.
Too much undercoat.
Yellow eye colour.
Too long coat.  

Disqualify 

White lockets and white spots on cats registered without white.
Cross-eyed.
Too deep set of eyes.
Pigmentation In the eye colour.
Lack of flexibility in the tail.
